Potato Vodka

MADE BY BOYD & BLAIR IN GLENSHAW, PENNSYLVANIA

MOUTH SAYS...

This isn't flavored vodka, but it is vodka with a surprising amount of flavor! It's clean and just barely sweet, with an almost creamy texture that comes from using potatoes, rather than grain, as the base. Boyd & Blair buys the potatoes from local farms and bottle only the best and smallest part of the distilling run, discarding a significant portion of the "heads" (the first part distilled) and the tails (the last part).

When co-founders and distillers Prentiss Orr and Barry Young released their first run of bottles in 2008, it quickly became a hit with bartenders, both for incredible flavor and endless versatility.

tip of the tongue

Potato vodkas originated in Russia and Poland in the 1800s, so do as the Russians do and sip a chilled glass neat. Vashe zdorovie!
