Mouth says...

Grenadine, the bright red cocktail syrup perhaps best known for giving a Shirley Temple her blush, is traditionally made from pomegranates (who knew?). But when Clare and Matt of Wisconsin-based Quince & Apple decided to make their own, they opted for local tart cherries instead. The result is a little sweeter than the classic, with a similar rich, red hue and a juicy cherry flavor. Makes a great gift for home mixologists, bartenders and more.

Tip of the Tongue

Mix up a Berry Smash! Muddle blackberries and mint in a shaker, then pour in 1/2 oz Cherry Grenadine and 2 oz whiskey. Throw in lots of ice, shake shake shake, and strain into your favorite wide-mouth cocktail glass. Or, if you're hungry, fold a spoonful or two into sliced strawberries and serve with shortcake and whipped cream – yum.
