PB Sandwich Hack #6: Chili Granola + Dried Berries

You like sweet. You like spicy. You like savory. Put all that together? You get this peanut butter sandwich aka the sandwich of your dreams.

We didn't know we needed spicy granola in our lives until we tried this fiery, flavorful concoction from our friends at Bad Seed. Chili Granola is unlike anything else, but it does remind us (in the best possible way) of the spicy, crunchy bits at the bottom of a bowl of Szechuan dan dan noodles. So good!

And the deliciousness of granola with dried berries is just one of the truths of this world. Our favorite are the Dried Cranberries & Blueberries made by Vincent Family Cranberries in Bandon, Oregon. They don’t bog you down with added sugar – fresh cranberries and blueberries are just infused with unsweetened apple juice before being dried to a chewy but soft and juicy texture.

To make this sweet/spicy/savory concoction, toast your favorite slice of bread and top with a good smear of peanut butter. For this, we like a neutral nut butter, like Organic Creamunchy Peanut Butter, because the Chili Granola adds so much flavor.

Top the peanut butter with a sprinkle of granola. Just be sure to mix it up before spooning it out – before you take off the top, turn the bottle over for a minute and let the oil redistribute. Finish off your PB masterpiece with a small handful of Dried Cranberries & Blueberries, arranged in a pretty pattern because scientifically speaking that makes it taste better.
