Fall Cocktail: Roger, Ginger!

It’s time to get into the fall spirit! And who says tea is the only beverage to get cozy with? We find ourselves reaching for more and more bourbon in the later months of the year – the weighty brown liquor just makes us want to slip on the silk slippers we got last Christmas (but haven’t worn), watch Swing Time on repeat while sobbing uncontrollably to “The Way You Look Tonight,” wondering why no one sings to us while we wash our hair.

Plus, bourbon is a great backdrop for so many cocktails – on dreary days, we love to brighten things up by making a Roger, Ginger (backwards and in high heels – how else?). The vibrant ginger, sweet pineapple juice and smooth, mellow bourbon is just like our favorite fall day: crisp, exhilarating, renewing… just like a wink from Fred.

Roger, Ginger

1.5 ounces Koval Distillery Single Barrel Bourbon
.5 ounce pineapple juice
.5 ounce Barrow’s Intense Ginger Liqueur
2-3 dashes Hella Bitter’s Citrus Bitters
Candied ginger and mint leaves for garnish

1. Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice.
2. Stir for 30 seconds with a Jack Rudy Bar Spoon.
3. Strain into a tall glass over ice and top with seltzer.
4. Garnish with ginger and mint leaves.
