Yes, we’ve tried a lot of jam, but this one really turns up the volume. Its blackberry flavor is so deep, so earthy, so spicy – no, we’re not describing a wine, but this jam sure tastes like one! Not too sweet and not too tart, it leaves a burst of fruit in your mouth with each bite. And there’s nothing extraneous in this jar, just the simplest ingredients.
INNA jam gets their fruit straight from farmers within 150 miles of their Emeryville kitchen (that’s between Oakland and Berkeley if you’re unfamiliar with the Bay Area). They stick to single varietals from a single source, so each batch is a distillation of a particular place and a particular season (berry terroir!). They also use super-ripe berries and less sugar, so the essence of each fruit can shine through.
