Stanley Plum Jam
Stanley plums grown in Michigan's Lower Peninsula lend a sweet-tart balance to this thick, rich jam. It's insanely spreadable, with chewy bits of fruit, just a touch of added sugar and a bright splash of lemon juice.

But the Stanley plum is the most popular plum in Michigan, found at farm stands all across the state, prized for deep purple skin and the shock of bright yellow flesh waiting inside. They ripen in autumn, and we're so glad to be able to enjoy them in perfectly preserved form year-round.
tip of the tongueKick out the jams! Take a tip from the deli and slather on thick toast. Drop a dollop on a slice of cheesecake. Use it as a sandwich spread (it's especially good with roast pork). If you're feeling swell, mix up a Plum Job: Combine 2 oz Old New Orleans Amber Rum, 1 oz fresh-squeezed lime juice and 1 tsp Stanley Plum Jam in a cocktail shaker with lots of ice, shake, strain into an ice-filled glass and garnish with fresh basil leaves.
