Sonoma Coast Syrah 2011

MADE BY RED CAR WINE IN SEBASTOPOL, CALIFORNIA

MOUTH SAYS...

This naturally fermented red displays the classic perfume of Syrah, with a black fruit richness and subtle spice. About 12 months in the barrel creates a round, earthy balance to the grape’s naturally bright, tannic acidity.

Of all their grape varietals, Red Car has been making wine from their Northern Rhône Syrah the longest. The winery was one of the first “Rhône Rangers” in California, preserving a new American tradition of growing old varietals typically found in the Rhône River Valley in France.

tip of the tongue

Red Car’s Syrah is pretty bold, so we amp it up with another bold flavor. Try slow-cooking pork shoulder with Korean BBQ Sauce, then pile onto sliders with bright cabbage slaw. Or simply grill steaks in garlicky chimichurri sauce.
