This terrific whiskey has obvious Scottish roots but pure American execution!
It's made from 100% malted barley just like across the pond but there's no peat smoke. And aging for 9 months in small new American oak casks (instead of the Scotch tradition of large used casks) highlights the roasted grain flavors of the malt along with bright notes of honey and vanilla.
We think it tastes like crusty bread lightly spread with honey. Only boozier.
Our neighbors at Van Brunt Stillhouse make tiny batches of whiskey by hand. Because of their small size and their love of experimentation, they release different styles throughout the year. Each run is extremely limited, so we might not have this in stock for long.
