Salted Caramel Apple Salt Water TaffyMADE BY SALTY ROAD IN BROOKLYN, NEW YORK
If only our childhood selves knew that the boxes of dubiously flavored, machine-pulled stuff foisted off as salt water taffy on every boardwalk coast-to-coast weren’t worth the calories (or the lockjaw). Fortunately for our more discriminate selves, Brooklyn-based Marisa Wu is righting such wrongs by adding back what the souvenir imposters lack – natural flavors, a toothsome hand-pulled texture, and sea salt that you can actually taste.
Spiced apple with creamy caramel and flaky sea salt come together in this delicious taffy. Inspired by a pie from Marisa's friends at Four & Twenty Blackbirds Pie Shop, whose secret is a combination of cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, fresh black pepper, and a splash of angostura bitters for the perfect blend of spice. Marisa's secret is Woods Cider Mill Cider Jelly made in Vermont. She's really taking the classic fall treat to new heights.
