This Straight Rye Whiskey from Union Horse always wins the race.
Here in the U.S., rye whiskey only needs to be distilled from a minimum of 51% rye. But this thoroughbred is handcrafted from a 100% rye mash to maximize the grain’s dry, earthy spice.
Handcrafted from locally-sourced grains (milled daily on site) and distilled in a 500-gallon copper pot still (dubbed “Chester Copperpot”), Reunion has complex notes of caramel, butterscotch, cinnamon and black pepper. It’s aged up to five years in signature Missouri oak barrels, but tastes even older. At 93 proof, it’s dangerously smooth.
