Quinoa might be a super-trendy superfood, but it's not exactly a common ingredient in whiskey. As far as we know, Corsair's is the first and only quinoa whiskey. Nutty, grassy, a little floral and quite spicy, this is one unusual and delicious whiskey. It's made from 80% malted barley and 20% red and white quinoa.
So, why quinoa? The folks at Corsair got their start in home beer brewing, so they're big fans of experimenting with different flavors. They wanted to see what happened if they worked outside of the traditional big four whiskey ingredients (corn, wheat, barley and rye). They were pretty excited by the results, and we think you will be too.
