Cow Bell Winery is located in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, an area famous for turning out some of the best Pinot varietals in the States. This Pinot Gris is no exception – golden-hued, fragrant and juicy, it’s round on the palate with clean, bright, vibrant notes of green apple and ripe lemon (is that nectarine, too?).
Here’s a history lesson we’d actually study for: Pinot Gris originated in Burgundy, like the other members of the Pinot family, and has had a long history all over Europe. In 1965, Oregon winegrowers introduced Pinot Gris to New World viticulture, and it’s now considered the principal white wine of the area!
This luscious and zesty Pinot Gris is a great choice for any occasion, especially early afternoon card games and a buttery, Sunday roast chicken.
