Mushroom Blue Cheese Jerky

MADE BY UNCLE ANDY'S JERKY IN FORT COLLINS, COLORADO

MOUTH SAYS...

Blue cheese isn’t for the faint of heart. Neither are mushrooms, come to think of it. Yet plenty of people (um, us) love a juicy beef burger smothered with mushrooms and crumbled blue cheese, so why not unite these whopping flavors in a beef jerky?

Uncle Andy, a man who learned to love jerky only by making his own with “foodie-inspired” flavors, knew he was onto something when he put Rogue Creamery’s Blue Heaven blue cheese and some dried porcini mushrooms to work with his choice Angus Beef. (We love when two of our makers collaborate.) The result chews like steak and satisfies like a meal.

Baked potato and creamed spinach not included.

TIP OF THE TONGUE

Jerky’s biggest plus is portability, but sometimes we can’t resist the idea of incorporating it into home-cooked meals – especially a jerky this gourmet. Try tossing it with roasted Brussels sprouts, or even in place of (you may need to sit down for this) bacon on that baked potato we mentioned.
