McCarthy's Oregon Single Malt WhiskeyMADE BY CLEAR CREEK DISTILLERY IN PORTLAND, OREGON
“Made in Oregon, with peat smoke-dried, malted barley from Scotland.”—Josie, Editor
If Portland were in Scotland (dream big, people), this whiskey would be a single malt Scotch, and would certainly turn some heads.
This rich, smoky, smooth spirit is a Single Malt Whiskey made in the Islay Scotch tradition. To pull off this trick, Clear Creek brings in peat smoke-dried, malted barley from Scotland, and local brewery Widmer Brothers ferments it until it’s ready to distill. Then, they age it in a combination of used sherry casks and new local oak casks.
This whiskey isn't just defined by the peat, though. The smoke is balanced by the creamy flavor of malted barley, and a hint of caramel sweetness from three years in new Oregon oak.
This bottle has won just about every award and accolade out there. Just one taste, and you'll know why.

This is one of the rarest spirits we carry – we can only get a couple of bottles a year – so when you see it’s available, don’t hesitate!
