Matthiasson Rosé 2015

MADE BY MATTHIASSON WINE IN NAPA, CALIFORNIA

MOUTH SAYS...

This salmon-colored stunner comes from Steve Matthiasson, San Francisco Chronicle’s Winemaker of the Year 2014 and one of our favorite winemakers here at Mouth. It is one of the more graceful rosés we’ve tasted. Sweet aromas of white peach and berries give way to a drier, more delicate flavor that's first floral, then finishes with a rich mineral note that is simply mouthwatering.

This wine is made with very minimal intervention. For the wine nerds, the grapes are sourced from Windmill Vineyard and Kahn Hillside Vineyard in Sonoma. The grapes are pressed whole-cluster, fermented with native yeast and aged on lees in stainless steel tanks. The wine's not stirred, racked, cold-stabilized or fined, just lightly filtered and bottled, ready for your glass.

The super aromatic 2015 rosé is perfect for any occasion, but be warned  a very limited number of cases were made, so grab a bottle while you can.

TIP OF THE TONGUE
When do we not want to drink this rosé? Our favorite pairing so far is roast chicken with a goat cheese and pea green salad.
