Krogstad Festlig Aquavit

MADE BY HOUSE SPIRITS DISTILLERY IN PORTLAND, OREGON

MOUTH SAYS...

The food world is totally obsessed with Scandinavia these days (hello cold shrimp salad, dill-flavored everything and super-seasonal foraged vegetables!). We're all for it – hence,  everyone should have a bottle of Scandinavia's traditional spirit to sip while fantasizing about endlessly long summer days and giant spreads of smoked fish.

This take on aquavit is infused with star anise and caraway seeds for a warm, spicy flavor with subtle undertones of licorice.

Head distiller Christian Krogstad was introduced to the spirit by his grandparents, who immigrated to the US from Norway. In Scandinavia, families often have their own particular recipes, so he named this one in honor of his family.

tip of the tongue
