Gold Label CiderMADE BY ORCHARD HILL CIDER MILL IN NEW HAMPTON, NEW YORK
What would Champagne taste like if it was made from apples instead of grapes? Orchard Hill's Gold Label Cider!
Orchard Hill makes it using the traditional French méthode champenoise, which gives it a full body, effervescent carbonation and semi-sweet flavor. There's the hint of fresh baked biscuits which comes from fermentation in the bottle (that's called bottle conditioning). And upstate New York is known for its thriving apple crops and Orchard Hill is located at Soons Orchard, one hour north of New York City.
Oui, this cider reminds us of French cidre, the drink of choice along the northwest coast of Brittany and Normandy.
did you know?
Hard cider was the original American beverage (it's basically all the colonial settlers drank!), and we're so excited that this delicious, historical beverage is suddenly popular again. We've tracked down the most incredible indie cider and perry on the market, all fermented from apples or pears using traditional techniques.
tip of the tongue
The bright carbonation and rich flavor of this cider makes it an amazing accompaniment to fried chicken with all the traditional sides. Or you could sip a glass with bread and cheese.
