Gewürztraminer GrappaMADE BY RANSOM WINES & SPIRITS IN SHERIDAN, OREGON
Grappa gets a bad rap in the US thanks to the really rough ones served in too many Italian restaurants. But when we tasted Ransom's, we were blown away.
Made from Gewürztraminer grape seeds, skins, pulp and stems (everything that's left over after the wine has been made), this crystal-clear spirit is smooth and fragrant with some of the distinctive tropical and spice notes that make Gewürztraminer wine so delicious.
And there's no residual sugar, which makes this a great bracing spirit to sip after a big dinner.
tip of the tongue
Try splashing a little Grappa into your after-dinner coffee for a great twist on an old tradition.

When liquor is distilled, the alcohol comes out of the still in phases, which are traditionally referred to as the heads, the hearts and the tails. Distillers typically keep the hearts to age or bottle, and rework or discard the heads and the tails. Ransom only keeps a fraction of the distilling run, "the heart of the hearts," to make this brandy, and you can really taste the difference.
