MOUTH SAYS...

This distinctive, modern bourbon is made from a blend of both traditional (corn, wheat) and more unusual (barley, Carolina Gold rice) grains.

The corn is silky sweet, the wheat is soft and bread-y, the barley lends a bit of malt, and the rice, perhaps the most distinct, lends a delicious nuttiness. Barrel aging brings out notes of vanilla, cherry, smoke and toasted almond.

It's part of High Wire's New Southern Revival Brand, a series of spirits celebrating the diverse agricultural traditions of the American South. The distillery works with local farms to source the highest quality heirloom white corn, red winter wheat, malted barley and Carolina Gold rice bran, which they ferment and distill in the first legal distillery in Charleston, South Carolina, since Prohibition.

tip of the tongue

Delicious on its own, this bourbon is also ideal for classic cocktails from the Mint Julep to the Boulevardier. We think it's best enjoyed sitting on a porch swing on a hot afternoon, but if you don't have a porch handy, just close your eyes and pretend.

47% alcohol by volume; comes in a 750ml bottle.
