Cesar Sanchez is a true salsa savant. His Salsa Xalapa is named for the capital city of Veracruz in Mexico. Fire roasted jalapeños are marinated in soy sauce, lime juice and a secret blend of spices, then pureed into a chunky, spicy salsa. If you thought salsa had to be made from tomatoes, this one will blow your mind. 

It's so good, it makes us forget about the guacamole.

This salsa is spectacular on corn chips, but we also love it with braised beef or lamb, because the umami from the soy sauce intensifies the meaty flavor.
