Choco-holics rejoice! This is chocolate rum, and chocolate rum at its finest. First, Cacao Prieto distills the rum from a mix of organic cane sugar and organic, single-origin cacao sourced from a family farm in the Dominican Republic. Then, they infuse it with even more roasted cacao before aging for a year in oak barrels.
This isn't a liqueur, because no sugar is added after distilling. It's an earthy, rich, chocolate spirit with hints of vanilla and oak from the barrel; and a small pour has become one of our very favorite desserts.

Make grown-up ice cream sodas at your next dinner party. Fill tumblers with a scoop of chocolate or walnut ice cream. Add a shot of Cacao Rum and a shot of Nocino walnut liqueur, then fill the glass with seltzer. Serve with spoons and straws.
