Mouth says...

Crème brûlée in a chocolate bar? Ooh la la! La vie est belle! While some may have thought it impossible, this Maine maker has—astonishingly—translated all the great aspects of the classic dessert into a new but equally elegant form. The custard base is represented by a creamy white chocolate with hints of vanilla. It’s mixed with shards of caramelized sugar, bringing the same depth and warmth as the traditional offering’s crispy layer of caramel, not to mention the experience of shattering through the crackle in each bite.

Tip of the Tongue:

While crème brûlée is most commonly attributed to French cuisine—specifically a 1691 edition of Le Cuisinier Royal et Bourgeois by Versaille cook François Massialot—its exact origins are much debated. Some say the confection dates back to 15th century England, while others claim it harkens to Spain’s crema catalana, which originated in medieval times. The one thing about which most everyone agrees: It’s delicious!
