Citrus Vodka

MADE BY OOLA DISTILLERY IN SEATTLE, WASHINGTON

MOUTH SAYS...

This lemon and lime version of OOLA’s flagship vodka is bright and smooth, with undertones of a more herbal lemon verbena. It’s riound and clean, and totally without any of those chemical-y, overly sugary flavors you find in the bottom-shelf stuff.

OOLA distillery, founded by Kirby Kallas-Lewis, wears many hats: It’s part dance studio  (Kirby’s wife KT Niehoff is a contemporary dance choreographer), part bar/restaurant, part event venue, part sales room and part micro-distillery.

Kirby’s "grain-to-glass" spirits run the gamut as well, from straight gin and vodka to botanical variations. He sees spirit-making as "a creative act," and takes special care to use only local resources.

You could say Kirby puts the "art" in artisan.

TIP OF THE TONGUE

Try a Pucker Up! Combine 1½ ounces OOLA Citrus Vodka and 4 ounces lemonade in a tall glass filled with ice. Stir to combine and garnish with a Jack Rudy Cocktail Cherry. Throwing a party? Make a large batch and let the guests help themselves!
