This Halloween, Chicago makers Veruca Chocolates are filling indulgent dark chocolate skulls with a caramel ganache that’s got a little spicy kick. And that Jackson Pollock-esque exterior? That’s not a wrapper. These skulls are actually hand-decorated to look like creepy works of abstract expressionism in the best way possible. Each box of four is unique and makes a genuinely scary-good gift.
Meghan Ryan, the mastermind behind Veruca, is actually a trained pastry chef who’s always had a sweet spot for sweets. Specifically, chocolate. After a few years of working as the lead chocolatier at Veruca, she became the owner and now spends all her time creating some of the most crafty and, in this case, slightly creepy treats we’ve ever come across.
