It's here! The answer to our endless prayers for a tender, chewy, straight-from-Mom's-oven chocolate chip cookie. We'd looked for so long, we'd almost given up, until one of our very favorite cookie bakers, Katherine Frankstone of Grey Ghost, decided it was time to tackle a classic.
Of course, being a creative type, she had to put her little spin on it. These get even more comforting (if that's possible!) with the oh-so-Southern addition of toasted pecan bits, folded gently into the dough. A little sweet molasses and rich chocolate chips take us straight back to childhood memories of bake sales, lazy Sunday afternoons in the kitchen and sweet lunchbox surprises.
We love a good ghost story. We also love a good cookie. Grey Ghost Bakery serves up both! This family-run baking company is named after the legendary ghost of Pawleys Island, South Carolina, who is said to alert residents to impending storms. Boo!
