Here’s your good seed for the day. New York grown and roasted, these salty and savory pepitas come from farm-fresh butternut squash. And while they’ll doubtless inspire memories of the seeds you used to scoop out from your jack-o-lanterns, they’re significantly more tender, since their hulls have been softened through a brining process. Pepitas also make for one wholesome snack, being high in vitamin E, as well as beneficial antioxidants like lutein and beta carotene. They’re (almost) too gourd to be true.
