Brass Lift Coasters

MADE BY FRUITSUPER DESIGN IN SEATTLE, WASHINGTON

MOUTH SAYS...

Elegant, simple and modern, these industrial, solid brass coasters are designed to elevate (and elevate) your glassware. Might we also add how unbelievably good they look just sitting there, even when they’re not doing their job.

FruitSuper Design, established in 2008, is a Seattle-based studio that designs objects (from practical household items, like these coasters, to whimsical jewelry to decorative sculptures) that all exhibit a happy balance of fun and function.

These brass coasters are about the size of a cocktail napkin (4.5" x 4.5" x 3.75") and come in a set of four. The brass is uncoated, which means it’ll age, getting darker and richer over time. We love the patina, but if you want to restore brass to its original luster, just use some brass polish.

Can coasters moonlight as home décor? Asking for a friend.

TIP OF THE TONGUE

Nothing says mid-century chic like a Bees Knees cocktail perched one of these coasters: In a mixing glass filled with ice, combine 2 ounces Ransom Dry Gin, 1 ounce Vya Sweet Vermouth, 1 ounce Kas Honey Liqueur, 2 dashes Hella Bitter's Aromatic Bitters and stir for 30 seconds. Strain and serve in a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with lemon peel and star anise.

  • $78 for 4 coasters
