We’re on cloud wine. This intoxicatingly juicy jam is made with crushed blackberries, warm fall spices and yes, lots of mulled merlot. The vegan spread is also prepared without pectin, thickeners and stabilizers and is low in sugar. Which makes it seriously spoonable, and allows the natural flavors of fruit, orange juice, cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg and cloves to shine. While clearly dynamite on toast or added to cheese plates, it can also be a prime part of cocktail hour — try combining a dollop with muddled basil and gin. In other words, eat, drink, and be berry!
Tip of the Tongue:
Keep your jam in the refrigerator to make it thicker, or heat it with a bit of cornstarch for use in baking applications.
