Pinot Noir is having a very long moment, but we've noticed that it's gotten harder and harder to find a great one at a decent price point. Enter Billsboro! This stunner from the Finger Lakes has all the beautiful red fruit flavors, bright acidity and moderate tannins a wine snob could want, and it won't break the bank.
The grapes are grown at Sawmill Creek Vineyards on the southeastern slopes of Seneca Lake. They're hand-picked and gently crushed, then fermented in open top fermenters. The warm growing season shows up in the added complexity of this wine, and aging in a combination of neutral and French oak barrels for 9 months doesn't hurt either.
