Your Pantry Called, It Wants Adoboloco Hot Sauce

Question: Have you ever actually looked at the back of a typical hot sauce bottle? If so, you’ve probably seen some ingredients you can’t pronounce. That’s because many hot sauces contain preservatives plus fillers, gums and oils that are used as thickening agents.

Want something cleaner, better tasting, and better for you? We thought so. Enter Adoboloco, small-batch hot sauces made by the Parsons family in Hawaii, a.k.a. The Hot Sauce Of Your Dreams.

Adoboloco hot sauces are naturally preserved by their own ingredients (hello, distilled apple cider vinegar), and each flavor contains only five ingredients or fewer. Each sauce has a base of vinegar, peppers, sea salt and garlic, and sometimes they’ll add in mouthwatering things like fresh, juicy pineapple. The results are hot sauces so pure, you’ll actually be able to taste the fruity flavors of the peppers. And isn’t that why you reach for hot sauce in the first place?

So, now that you’re ready to chuck out those red, crusty squeeze bottles lurking in the back of your fridge and upgrade to the seriously good stuff, allow us to introduce you to some of our favorite hot sauces out there:

Bangkok Thai Chile Hot Sauce – The Thai chilies give this sauce a refreshing citrus note that encourages liberal pouring. But tread carefully – like all fiery relationships, the heat builds quickly and before you know it, you’re in too deep.

Habañero Hot Sauce – The habañero pepper may be known on the streets as the hottest of the hots, but have patience with its initial fire and be rewarded: There's a lovely fruitiness that shines through.

Hamajang Ghost Pepper Hot Sauce – This hard-to-find hot sauce is made from 60% smoked ghost peppers and 40% fresh habañeros. In other words, it is liquid fire. Be warned.

Hawaiian Chile Hot Sauce – This specialty hot sauce is made from the Hawaiian chile pepper, which is so small it’s difficult to gather enough to make a big batch. It has a delicate, floral flavor that we find ourselves using in everything from eggs to tacos to marinades.

Jalapeño Hot Sauce – With a mild heat comparable to Tabasco, this sauce is really more about the vegetal freshness of jalapeño peppers than anything else. But it's so tasty that even heat fiends will find themselves reaching frequently for the bottle.

Pineapple Habañero Medium Hot Sauce – The habañero hot sauce with added pineapple. It’s fresh, sweet, spicy and textured and we are completely obsessed.
