Worth One's Salt...

Summer foods — so drool-inducing, so short-lived — deserve to be completely and utterly worshipped. Shower them with a salt that makes it clear just how special they are. Here are seven salts that will shake up dinner each beautiful and balmy night of the week.

Monday: You won’t miss a thing on Meatless Monday if you let corn-on-the-cob sprinkled with White Truffle Sea Salt run the show. The truffle’s umami more than satisfies.

Tuesday: Putting a dent in your annual squash glut is a pleasure when a quick “zucchini almondine” gets topped with Lemon Sea Salt. Grill some chicken and you’re eating (darn deliciously) in 20 minutes.

Wednesday: Celebrate the hump by throwing a few steaks seasoned with Bourbon Smoked Sea Salt on the grill and opening a bottle of California-grown Nebbiolo. So much better than a night out.

Thursday: Call a healthy portion of tomato and mozzarella salad — quirked up with this Herb Salt — dinner. You’ll need to employ some garlic-scraped toast slices as delivery vehicles, of course.

Friday: Raise a Meyer Lemon Salt-rimmed glass to the weekend and then promptly fill it with ice, two parts Four Peel Gin and two parts Grapefruit Hibiscus Cocktail Mixer for a take on a salty dog. Gulp and repeat.

Saturday: Be the talk of your picnic by baking brownies (we’ll have an awesome new gluten-free mix available soon) and then adding a flurry of Finishing Flake Sea Salt to their crackly tops while still warm from the oven.

Sunday: Eke out the weekend with an al fresco supper — grouper or mahi coated with this one-stop-shop Sea Salt Spice Blend that combines sea salt with pepper, garlic, onion, paprika, celery salt and lemon. Rice pilaf and green beans can come too.

Far from exhaustive, we hope you’ll take our recommendations with a pinch of (indie) salt.
