Big Dippers: What To Do With All Those Apples You Picked!

“How do you like them apples?” If your answer has become increasingly less enthusiastic each time you’ve reached into that bottomless bushel you hauled back from the orchard two weekends ago, we hear you. It’s easy to get carried away when you spy an even rounder, juicier looking McIntosh high in the boughs...and another...and another…

You’ve made apple cake, apple pancakes, apple pie, apple tart, apple crisp, apple crumble, apple muffins, apple compote, apple butter, baked apples and applesauce (twice). You’ve grated them onto a sweet-and-salty grilled cheese sandwich, sliced them into slaws and salads, garnished your cocktails with them, sliced one up every day into your oatmeal. You’re a little appled out.

But before you start sending your kids to school with a backpack full, or plotting to hand them out to trick-or-treaters instead of candy, consider dunkin’ dem apples!

Of course, we may well have more amazing dunkers than you have apples, so these are just the apple of our eye (sorry). By all means, find your own favorites and start dipping.

Big Spoon Roasters Chai Spice Peanut Almond Butter - A traditional masala chai blend (cardamom, cloves, ginger, cinnamon, vanilla and black pepper) is mixed with milled peanuts and almonds, then sweetened with wildflower honey. Nut butters and apples are our go-to (and fast) lunch at Mouth HQ.

Hey Boo Vegan Caramel Sauce - Calling all vegans: an impressively creamy (but dairy-free!) coconut caramel, rich in color, tropical flavor and utter sweetness, with just a hint of sea salt.

Heck, go ahead and double dip too - we’re all friends here.
