One sip of this cozy winter warmer and suddenly we’re daydreaming about sitting by a fire in a log cabin and hot tubbing while it snows.
The cocktail starts with a base of hot brewed coffee, from our neighbors at Brooklyn Roasting Company. The beans are harvested on the Indonesian island Sumatra, where the island’s temperamental climate and complex, funky farmland vibe make for some out-of-this-world javas. Plus, the pulped natural process used really enhances their body and gives the coffee an earthy, chocolatey character that makes it ideal for mixing in cocktails.
The coffee gets spiked with a spicy-sweet, oaked bourbon whiskey made by Breckenridge Distillery in the high mountains of Colorado. Our favorite tidbit about Breckenridge? The bourbon is brought down to the right proof by using snowmelt. Yep, snowmelt. The water’s natural minerals enhance the Mouth-feel for a creamy texture we just can’t get enough of.
You won’t be able to, either:
The Snow Cap
1. Add bourbon, coffee and brown sugar to a heated glass or coffee mug.
2. Stir with Jack Rudy Bar Spoon until blended.
3. Top with a thick layer of lightly whipped heavy cream. Don’t feel like whipping? Simply pour 2 ounces heavy cream over the back of a spoon.
Time to hit the (bunny) slopes.
