Think you’ve got a full-on peanut butter obsession? Well, there’s no one at Mouth who goes more nuts for nuts than Sam Murray, our Chief Operations Officer.
Sam starts each day with a peanut butter and banana smoothie. (Check out the recipe below that uses Big Spoon Roasters' Honeyed Peanut Butter!) On his desk at all times are several jars from our endless shelves of Nut Butters. Sometimes he cuts up an apple, but mostly Sam just unabashedly digs his Mouth wooden spoon straight into a jar, while reminding us once again that PB is the perfect high-protein, low-sugar snack.
Another of Sam's favorite afternoon peanut butter delivery vehicles is the gingersnap, which he pairs with a smear of Bourbon Pecan Peanut Butter. And at home, Sam's even a bigger nutcase, blending Honeyed Peanut Butter into everything from pancakes to salad dressing to fried chicken batter to chili to ice cream.
The latest jar on Sam’s desk? Kerfluffle’s indie Fluffernutter – blending super-creamy organic peanut butter with gooey marshmallow fluff to drive him completely stir-crazy.

Sam's Pre-Morning Cycle Peanut Butter & Banana Smoothie Recipe
- 1 teaspoon chia seeds
- 1 capful whey powder
- 1 cup almond milk
- 2 bananas
- 2 tablespoons Honeyed Peanut Butter
- 6 ice cubes
- Toss chia seeds and whey powder into blender. Add almond milk.
- Add bananas, peanut butter and ice cubes.
- Blend until smooth and well mixed.
