Maker Monday: This Video Of Taffy Being Made Is Borderline NSFW

Marisa Wu, founder of Salty Road, a boutique confectionary in Brooklyn, decided to start making candy because she is a realist: “Life is really hard… and I feel like it’s amazing to have something sweet to take away some of the bitterness of this regular life.” 

We agree. What would life be worth living if not for taffy? And not just any taffy – Wu’s unique, gourmet flavors range from deep dark chocolate chews, peppermint salt water taffy, sea salt caramel salt water taffy and strawberries & cream salt water taffy. (We suggest getting one of each – for posterity, of course.)

What makes Salty Road stand apart from the other, stale boardwalk taffy’s you may be familiar with, is their use of real ingredients (nothing artificial, thank you very much), plus a higher amount of sea salt per taffy.
