We’re in love with cheese. Have we told you before? We really can’t get enough. And our favorite part of having over and hosting other Mouths? Creating the ever-popular cheese board, for all its shareable, gushable, mix-and-matchable glory.
So break out The Big Cheese for your next book club, invite your besties over for cocktails or throw a seriously awesome poker night. It's gonna be grate.
Feast on three swoony, indie cheeses: A mini-wheel of delicate goat cheese from Vermont that's gooey with a creamy-sweet center; a tangy and rich firm cow's milk cheese from Massachusetts that’s perfect for slicing; and a funky sheep’s milk blue cheese from upstate New York. All whey, whey good.
And because your guests can't live on cheese alone, set out indie accompaniments that will make them flip: fruity, not-too-sweet fig jam; savory, spoon-worthy sun-dried tomato and olive tapenade; spectacularly buzzworthy wildflower honey for drizzling; two kinds of crunchy crackers – one made with beer, the other laced with dried fruits and nuts; and spiced candied pecans for nibbling well into the night.
This cheesy spread will serve five to six people generously, or a few more as a lead-in to a dinner party. For a larger gathering, check out Cheese for a Crowd. And if you want to get fancy, make the assortment extra party-ready and add on a fancy slate cheese board!
How gouda is that?
