Celebrate The Spirit Of Indie-Pendence With A Berry Smash-ing Cocktail

We can’t think of a holiday that’s more celebratory than the Fourth of July. Family, friends, the smell of hotdogs and hamburgers (or veggies!) grilling away... So, in the spirit of indie-pendence, we’ll be lighting fireworks with a revolutionary cocktail, perfect for backyard cookouts and ramparts-watching picnics!

This ripe, seasonal smash combines juicy blackberries, fresh mint, super smooth bourbon and tart cherry grenadine. We don’t add any simple syrup because we like the natural sweetness of the berries and bourbon to shine through, but if you’re finding it a little too Mouth-puckering, feel free to add a drizzle of honey.

Any way you shake it, it’s berry good.

3 mint leaves
4 blackberries
2 ounces Watershed Bourbon
½ ounce Quince & Apple Cherry Grenadine

  1. In a cocktail shaker, muddle mint leaves and three blackberries.
  2. Add in bourbon, grenadine and add a handful of ice. Shake until blended and well-chilled.
  3. Strain into a cocktail glass over ice and garnish with a single blackberry.
