Eat, Drink And Be indie: Tasty Recipes, Inspiring Maker Stories & Exclusives Served Daily

Tina Roth Eisenberg, founder of Brooklyn-based Tattly (we’re neighbors!), was tired of putting poorly designed temporary tattoos on her daughter, Ella’s, arm. She caught herself complaining about it all the time (the things that bother designers, right?), so she decided to take matters into her own hands. And we’re so glad she did – we never knew how much we needed whimsical, beautifully-designed temporary tattoos in our life.

Tina launched Tattly in July of 2011, and it was an instant hit: Within a few months, the company received thousands of orders from all around the world. By February 2012, they were off. (Apparently lots of people need beautifully designed temporary tattoos in their lives!)

These temporary tatts are for design-minded kids and kids-at-heart (aka, us), and totally turn the idea of cheesy temporary tattoos on its head. They’re designed by professional artists (who get a cut of every sale) and are all made with non-toxic, vegetable-based ink. They last from two to four days, which is great, because when we first got them in we were covered from head to toe.

Just enough time to realize our mistake, fix it and do it all over again.
