Cameron Sheldrake, a third-generation farmer and the founder of Off the Cob, grew up harvesting “New York’s tastiest sweet corn” on his family’s farm in Ithaca, N.Y. Every summer, he would handpick the ripest ears of corn and sell them on the side of the road at the Early Bird Farm road stand.
Cameron’s passion for corn only grew over time, so he decided to enter his college’s business plan competition with a pretty corny idea. And he won $20,000! That’s right - he turned this love into a business at the ripe old age of 22. Next, Off the Cob Sweet Corn Tortilla Chips raised $15,000 on Kickstarter. He even went on Shark Tank, and although he didn’t win, he was able to spread the word about his delicious snack. Cameron knew he was onto something a-maize-ing and he was right – these snacks are the first of their kind. They are the first ever tortilla chips made with real sweet corn on the cob and no artificial ingredients. Because they believe in “great taste, naturally.”
Off The Cob’s mission? To bring us delicious, nutritious snacks while using sustainable corn farming methods. Yeah, we’re obsessed…You could even call us stalk-ers.
