It seems like David Chang has been at the back of our collective food mind for a very long time. From his culinary musings on season 1 of PBS’s “Mind of a Chef” – blowing our minds with instant ramen cacio e pepe – to his words-with-attitude in the pages of quarterly food magazine Lucky Peach to, well, our unending need to cross every single one of his New York City restaurants off our list.

Before opening the first one, Momofuku Noodle Bar, in 2004, Chang worked in countless professional kitchens for culinary masterminds like Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Daniel Boulud and Tom Colicchio. He’s also been listed as one of the TIME 100 Most Influential People (2010).
