Peter Schaf and John Troia first met over 25 years ago and quickly discovered that they were both avid collectors of antique bottles, especially bitters bottles. Fast forward to 2007 when absinthe was legalized in the USA, they founded Tempus Fugit as an absinthe importer.
They realized there many of the liqueurs that were essential ingredients in classic, pre-Prohibition era cocktails had become watered-down versions of themselves or disappeared entirely. They began seeking out high quality versions, and making some of what they couldn't source. Today, they're a go-to source for hard-to-find specialty liqueurs.
