Martinelli Winery and Vineyards

The Martinelli family has been growing grapes in the Russian River Valley since the 1880s. At first they grew grapes that other winemakers purchased, but in the 1970s they decided they ready to start making their own wine. They still sell 90 percent of their grapes to other wineries, focusing their winemaking efforts on a small selection of varieties and vineyards.

Lee Sr, Lee Jr and George Martinelli still run the Windsor, California farm themselves, much like grandfather Guiseppe did 100 years ago: without irrigation, pesticides or trellising.
