Roundhouse Spirits

Alex Nelson looked around Boulder, CO and wondered how a town with more than a dozen breweries and brewpubs (plus a couple of wineries) didn't have a new distillery. So in 2008 he set out to do something about that gap.

Nelson tried to make the kind of spirits he'd always had a hard time finding. So he started with gin, and put some of it in barrels to age. We also think it's pretty cool that they get the coffee for their coffee liqueur from a neighboring cafe called The Unseen Bean, where the roaster/owner, Gerry Leary, is legally blind and roasts coffee by smell and touch (skills!).
