Texas Salsa

You know the salsa your friend makes for every party? The one that makes you test the structural integrity of the tortilla chip and can even pull the attention from the guacamole? That's how we felt the first time we tasted Zukali. And, indeed, salsa savant Cesar Sanchez started out making these salsas for friends at cookouts in McKinney, Texas.

Salsa Xalapa

Fire roasted jalapenos are marinated in soy sauce, lime juice and a secret blend of spices, then pureed into a chunky, spicy salsa. If you thought salsa had to be made from tomatoes, this one will blow your mind. 

INGREDIENTS: Roasted jalapeno, vinegar, water, lime juice concentrate, wheat, soybeans, salt, black pepper, sesame seeds, spices, lime oil, sodium benzoate and sodium metabisulfite. 

Chipotle Kafe

Spicy, sweet and sour, this salsa gets additional depth from coffee. Hot, but not too hot, it's an exceptional salsa to pair with beef, lamb, black beans or sweet potatoes. Or a spoon.

INGREDIENTS: Roasted tomatillo, roasted tomato, chipotle peppers (chipotles, tomatoes, salt, vegetable oil, paprika, vinegar and spices), apple cider vinegar, sugar, garlic, sea salt, freeze dried coffee, spices and molasses. 

Cilantro Pineapple

Inspired by tacos al pastor, this tangy pineapple salsa is exceptionally sweet and tart, with that gorgeous green flavor (just don't give it to any cilantro-haters). 

INGREDIENTS: Roasted tomatillo, roasted tomato, pineapple, pineapple juice, water, apple cider vinegar, lime juice from concentrate, cilantro, roasted jalapeno pepper, onion, sea salt, garlic, roasted serrano pepper and spices.
