Pickled Soy Shitake Mushrooms

Who knew you could pickle dried mushrooms? Pickle-maker Emiliana starts out by plumping organic dried shitake mushrooms in water. Next, she makes her brine from organic soy sauce, sugar, ginger, sherry vinegar and the mushroom liquid. Simple and incredibly delicious, these unusual, Asian-inspired pickles make a great gift for any pickle fan.

The organic mushrooms aren't a coincidence. The ingredients in every Jarred SF pickle are always local, sustainable and whenever possible organic. Jarred SF operates out of La Cocina, the only certified green kitchen in San Francisco.

Thanks to the soy, these mushroom slices are little umami-bombs. A great addition to all kinds of salads, we also like to add them to a grilled cheese made with rye and swiss.

Organic dried shiitake mushrooms, organic soy, organic sugar, sherry vinegar, water and organic ginger. Comes in a 9.5 oz jar.

NOTE: Most of our jarred items are shelf stable and don't require refrigeration until opened. Maker Emiliana requires that these stay refrigerated to ensure freshness and quality.
