Ah, Italy. This Finocchietto (pronounced fee-no-key-etto, meaning "fennel" in Italian) is a spirit infused with hand-picked wild fennel, fennel seed, anise seeds and dill. One sip has us dreaming of an elaborate Italian feast, which ends with tiny glasses of this lightly sweet, fennel-flavored spirit passed around the table. 

Francesco Amodeo clearly knows a thing or two about Italian feasts. He founded Don Ciccio & Figli, named after his grandfather, to bring the flavor of his family's artisanal liqueurs from the Amalfi coast of Italy to his new home in Washington, DC. All of their incredible, handmade liqueurs begin with a blend of all-natural fresh fruit, spices, herbs and grains infused into a high-quality neutral grain spirit base.

Fennel Liqueur is traditionally sipped after dinner, but we're excited to have it around for cocktails and punches, too, like this refreshing fennel gin fizz! Mix 1 oz Finocchietto with 1 1/2 oz gin, 1 oz sweet vermouth and 1 oz fresh lime juice. Shake all over ice, strain into a tall glass and top off with seltzer or club soda. A great follow-up to thinly sliced Finocchiona Salami!
