Olympia Coffee Roasting discovered the tiny farm La Escalera just this year on a sourcing trip. Previously, La Escalera had always sold its harvest to street buyers who don't preserve the traceability or individual identity of specific lots of coffee. So this is the first year that anyone has really been able to taste this wonderful direct trade coffee.

This coffee is a great example of why people value beans grown at high altitudes – it's grown at 1,800 meters above sea level, so it's some of the highest altitude coffee in El Salvador.
