Maple Bacon Peanuts

MADE BY THE REDHEAD IN BROOKLYN, NEW YORK

MOUTH SAYS...

Peanuts. Maple Syrup. Bacon – these are the first three ingredients. They're not kidding.

The Redhead is a great restaurant in the East Village which serves little jars filled with this amazing sweet bacony snack. They call this brittle but to us it's really something better. Brittle can be mostly sugar, with nuts being secondary. This is more of a cruncy, sweet, savory, brittle-coated peanut.

“Peanuts. Maple syrup. Some spices—cayenne and thyme. And bacon. All tossed together and roasted until the tacky bacon bonds with the crunchy peanuts, creating what may be the best beer nut in America” – Esquire Magazine

“The bacon peanut brittle's an instant classic.” – Frank Bruni in the New York TImes

As the package says "Because everything tastes better with bacon."

Open bag and eat. Open bag and pour in bowl to put out for others to eat.

Here's another idea: sprinkle over a well-dressed spinach salad.
